We’ll also introduce you to oatmeal on a mission and let you in on how you can be a part of our unique community effort to supply servings of our hot cereal to food banks in your area.
Healthy Snacks For Adults
1) Hot Cereal
Hot cereal is one of the best healthy snacks for adults because it’s easy to make and can be customized to your heart’s content.
Choose one of The Soulfull Project’s ready-to-cook hot cereals — they only take a bit of hot water and three minutes to prepare — and you’ll get hearty and heart-healthy ingredients, including:
This unique combination of fruit, nuts, and grains will help you feel full longer, maintain brain activity, and avoid the sugary snacks that can cause your energy levels to crash shortly after.
That’s good for your brain and your body!
2) Oatmeal Balls
Oatmeal balls are a perfect healthy snack because they’re nutritious, delicious, and packed with energy to get you through the day.
Try this sweet and salty no-bake oatmeal ball recipe and feel good about snacking between meals again.
- 1 cup of dry oats
- ¼ cup of nut butter (try almond butter for a more sweet and salty flavor)
- ¼ cup of honey
- ¼ cup of crushed pretzels
- ¼ cup of chopped roasted salted almonds
- Dash of salt
- ½ teaspoon of vanilla (optional)
- Measure all the ingredients into a medium mixing bowl

- Place bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes
- With a spoon, scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture
- With your hand, roll the mixture into a ball
- Place on a plate or in a storage container

Popcorn is a delicious low-calorie, low-fat snack that everyone loves. That’s why we’ve included it on our list of healthy snacks for adults. Keep in mind, though, that if you’re sensitive to gluten, popcorn can irritate your stomach.
Also, while plain popcorn is a whole-grain food that contains plenty of vitamins and minerals, the toppings you may add — butter, cheese flavor, and even caramel or toffee — can contain sugar and trans-fat.
If you decide to add flavorings, do so in moderation and consider also including nuts and fruit for a healthier option.
4) Fruit And Nuts
One of the simplest snacks on this list is a piece of fruit and a handful of nuts.
Nuts such as walnuts, almonds, and pistachios provide plenty of protein and healthy fat to keep you feeling full longer, while your favorite fruit — we like apples and oranges for their portability — supplies slow-digesting fructose to power your brain through a long afternoon.
Plus, the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in this delicious duo (whatever combination you choose) make them outstanding anti-aging foods that can’t be beat.
When it comes to healthy snacks for adults, few people consider granola as an option. And that’s a shame because granola is a tasty, nutritious, and easy-to-eat treat that’s good for your body and your mind.
Plus, you can mix in different flavors and ingredients — from sweet to savory — to create a power-packed snack right in your own kitchen.
Try this quick and easy recipe for blueberry jam granola (it’s one of our favorites) and experience for yourself how great snacking can be.
- 10 cups of rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- ¼ cup of honey
- 1 jar blueberry jam
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl
- Spread on a large cookie sheet
- Place cookie sheet in the oven
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes (or until light brown)
- Stir every 5-10 minutes
- Remove from oven and let cool completely
- Makes 10 cups

6) Apple And Peanut Butter
You might not think of this as a healthy snack for adults because it’s been a staple childhood snack for so long.
But there’s a reason the apples and peanut butter combination has stood the test of time: it’s good and good for you. Plus, it travels really well for those who like (or need) to snack on the go.
Just toss your favorite variety of apple (we like Honeycrisp) in the corner of your bag along with a small jar of peanut butter and you’re set.
If peanut butter isn’t your thing, any of the nut butters will do (we enjoy eating our apple snack with a healthy dose of crunchy almond butter). Yum!
7) Trail Mix
No list of healthy snacks for adults would be complete without trail mix. It tastes great and is chock-full of enough energy to help you resist the doughnut that’s been calling your name since breakfast.
Not sure what to include in your trail mix? Go easy on the candy, but feel free to throw in whatever nuts, dried fruit, and seeds you want.
Our favorite blend includes pecans, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, and shredded coconut.
8) Hard-Boiled Egg
Last — but certainly not least — on our list of healthy snacks for adults is the humble hard-boiled egg.
Cook up a dozen of these portable, protein-rich snacks Sunday night and you’ll be set for the week.
Yes, peeling a hard-boiled egg does take patience and practice, but once you get the shell off and you sprinkle the egg with a bit of salt and pepper, you’ve got a delicious snack like no other.
The Next Level Of Healthy Snacks For Adults

- Toasted Coconut
